The grey, Trailer!

Sometimes you have an actor when you just can’t wait to make another movie; well Liam Neeson is one of them. I like his skills, he is good in what he does and he makes good choices regarding the movies he takes part in. The Dark Knight, Taken and probably also the next Batman movie, but of course this is just speculation. At least I can say for sure that he plays in the grey and this one looks like a keeper. Just Imagine, the ultimate warrior against the ultimate beast and the beast has home advantage. This sounds like a fair fight for Liam. In this movie you get a combination of Survival of Men against nature’s cruelty. For me this is way enough to watch it, it just makes me curious to see this epic battle. So without further delay, here you have the trailer. Enjoy!

This trailer brings us the savagery that is called nature and the willingness of a man to survive and come home. I especially loved the scene when you see Liam preparing his “claws” against the wolves, I hope this will get a release at home, but in any case be prepared!

Man on a Ledge, Trailer

In our times it is difficult to come up with something new that actually interests me. But from time to time there is something that pops up and looks like new and shiny. The idea sounds interesting the cast is brilliant and what can you say it’s like this cool combination of Drama, Thriller and action. We could say fun and entertainment for the whole family. Sam Worthington on one side and Ed Harris on the other, it’s like clash of the titans. I hope I’m not wrong on this one, lately a lot of trailers looked amazing and the movie itself was quite disappointing, so I’ll keep you posted on anything new and Shiny. Enjoy!

I think and I hope this movie will give us a good value for money, considering the idea is interesting. As always there is some time to wait for this to come out, so sit back and relax, and as always be prepared!

Review: Mission Impossible 4: Ghost Protocol

Director: Brad Bird

Stars: Tom Cruise, Jeremy Renner and Simon Pegg

Genres: Action, some more action and you can guess, more action!

Release Date:15 December 2011

Memorable quote:
Benji Dunn: [showing a glove] Now remember: "Blue is glue!".
Ethan Hunt: And red?
Benji Dunn: Dead.

What?
This is the 4 movie of Mission impossible, and of course Ethan Hunt job is to save the world. From what else than a terrorist who has the nuclear codes for what else than a couple of Russian Nuclear weapons. Sounds simple enough, but things go wrong and instead of getting the terrorist, the codes and the glory, hell breaks loose and the Kremlin explodes blaming Ethan Hunt and everybody in his team. So, for them to survive they need to find the terrorist, blame him and of course again save the world from a nuclear holocaust, but this time without backup and help from nobody. Of course we still get all the fancy gadgets, don’t worry!

Yes?
Yeah it’s the fourth installment, and Tom Cruise is old the idea is old and well no new gadgets available, you couldn’t be more wrong! This movie brings everything that a fan would hope for, and even non fans would like this movie.

Tom Cruise proves that he is still worthy of being called superstar. Of course he is a action junkie or even freak, I’m sure that you saw this somewhere, (this isn’t considered a spoiler) he just hangs outside a tower in Dubai like 100 stores above sea level, the problem is this actually happened! SO yes his performance is great and I liked him here.

Jeremy Renner gave a very respectful performance too, as you may know he is going to be the next Jason Bourne, a lot of people are doubting if he can fit in those huge shoes but I think this performance here proved that he is able and he will do Bourne the right Honor!

Then we have the action and the gadgets, they are splendid! The explosions, the effects, the whole package! The difficulty is to make up new gadgets that don’t exist today, and they succeeded here too, I just want them to exist already!

Another great something is the hint of comedy we always get in the MI movies, in this one we had a bit more but they didn’t overdone it, so we are still good.

No?
If there is anything ”bad “ I would say was the lack of the real bad guy. All the time he is in the background and we don’t see him too much. He has a lot of pawns working for him, the cold but beautiful assassin and a lot of Bullies, but where is the Joker that tries to bring down Gotham and Batman. This part was really missing here, but besides that we are good.

Well…
This movie was entertaining as it was beautiful to watch the effects ion screen, it wasn’t 3D so I even liked it better. Tom Cruise still has it and Renner has a bright future and of course Present Career in front of him. If you can catch it at the movies, because of the effects, and you don’t have to watch the other once in the series to watch this one, because of all the above I grade this…

Review: Tower Heist

Director: Brett Ratner

Stars: Eddie Murphy, Ben Stiller and Casey Affleck

Genres: Action | Comedy | Crime

Release Date:3 November 2011

Memorable quote:
Josh Kovacs: The average apartment in the Tower costs 5.6 million dollars. We have the best views, the most advanced security systems, but you know what these people are really buying?
Rick Malloy: White neighbors?

What?
Josh Kovacs is the manager of luxurious tower apartment in New York. All the tenants are rich, richer and richest of New York. The staff is amazing, the security is the best you can get and of course an amazing penthouse with a pool on the top. Arthur Shaw, one of the wealthy tenants is arrested by the FBI for Fraud. The name Ponzi rings here a bell and what do you think, there is a scheme attached to it. All the pensions of the employees of the tower are gone, when Josh has decided to Invest in Shaw. After Josh Kovac understands that every Ponzi has a hidden security net he decides to rob his apartment in the towerand get revenge. From here you understand that for unprofessional criminals, crime is difficult.

Yes?
The movie is funny, that’s the least I can say. You feel for the employees and the villain is well played by Alan Alda. He has this face where you just want to hit him for what he does. You want the Criminals to succeed; I just like it when Hollywood tells us that crime is ok, when it’s against someone worse than you.

Stiller is just Stiller, you could say that he plays himself, he gives the same performance again and again, but you still love him afterwards. It’s not bad, it’s even good, dry but well. Think about it, he always plays the same thing, comedies in which he is the conservative guy, which needs to become liberal and loose to survive.

Then we have Eddie Murphy, I watched this guy since I was a kid, Beverly Hills cop 1,2,3, I just loved those movies. Then something happened he decided that he needs to play every character in every movie he does, why? I don’t know but I stopped to like him. I am happy to announce that he is back, and he only plays one character and that’s just enough. He is funny entertaining and sharp, he has jokes where you need them and it’s just good to have him here in the film. He and stiller together have a great chemistry and they add a lot to the whole thing.

No?
The movie had some slow moments; you just want them to be over. They ruin all the other moments, you just wait and start to asses’ scene per scene to see if this is going to become a good scene or a bad one. Most of the scenes are good I must say. That’s that.

Then we have the actress, ok she is hot ( Tea Leoni) but what’s with the acting part. She faded in the background and was just not needed in this movie.

Well…
This movie was entertaining, I felt that I got my money value here and I laughed a couple of times. You got what you expect from a comedy with Stiller and Murphy. You don’t have to watch it at the movies, you can just wait till it comes to DVD or rent it, or else. Because of all the above I grade this…

Contraband, upcoming and trailer!

Normally I would split this post in two, but they kind of overlap so that’s all what you get. A new movie came out yesterday evening, and well I didn’t publish any trailer for this one, so here you have it. We have Mark Wahlberg who is a professional “smuggler” I would like to say, even though the movie name is Contraband. So it has all the relevant variables a good action movie needs; Explosions, guns, family drama, and a good action actor. It looks interesting and I might even watch it at the movies. I got a hint of Gone in 60 seconds, where again the main character needs to come back in business to save some family, or friend or whatever. I feel that this was already used and this is actually sad, I guess it’s because in Hollywood no one is ever allowed to be bad for a selfish reason like for actual money. So here you have it, it came out yesterday. Enjoy!

Like I said, looks interesting, even though I’m not convinced about the whole smuggling idea if it’s enough of a theme for a movie, I guess we will find out. Be prepared!

Safe House, Trailer!

Denzel Washington is a good actor; I like his work and most of his characters he plays. The problem here is Reynolds; he on the other hand doesn’t always bring good movies or great performances. He has always this smirk on his face; I could characterize him as a cheap action comedy, whereas Denzel Washington is more like some Serious Action Thriller. So I’m in a dilemma here, what should I do, watch it when it comes out or not. The trailer I watched, and I’m not sure if I’m excited for this or not. Besides look at the poster here above, it just doesn’t look so convincing, something that screams buy a freaking ticket and watch me. It’s more like, if you have time and nothing else is here come and watch. I guess we will have to wait and see.

Explosions: Check, Action: check, Denzel: Check, Reynolds: unfortunately check. I’m not sure for this whole thing, but I’ll give Denzel all the necessary respect and the doubt to see what’s going to happen. As always be prepared!

Review: 30 minutes or less

Director: Ruben Fleischer

Stars: Jesse Eisenberg, Danny McBride and Nick Swardson

Genres: Action & Comedy

Release Date:12 August 2011

Memorable quote:
Chet: [gasp as Nick shows the bomb vest] What the fuck? Is that thing real?
Nick: Chet, if I don't get to the money in time. This thing gonna blow.
Chet: [angry] And your first though was to come to a school, filled with young children

What?
This weird and trailer trash spoiled kid Dwayne has a dream he wants to be rich! He comes up with a plan to kill his father and get his money he won in the lottery. To do this he needs to hire a assassin, who don’t come for free. So he comes up with this plan to kidnap a pizza boy, attach a bomb to his chest so he will rob a bank for them and give them the money etc.

Yes?
The trailer was good, which is maybe one of the big flaws of this movie. The story was interesting, and the idea was good. I would have done it differently but the basics work. This wasn’t some Oscar chasing movie, so I wasn’t that excited to watch it either, my expectations were low, so there was no disappointment.

I loved Eisenberg and his side kick, Aziz Ansari, they are funny together. For the rest you had some good laughs and acceptable entertainment.

No?
Choose better titles for a movie; don’t use some number if you are not likely to use it. 30 minutes or less, seems kind of a tell, and we just come up with like 10 hours which has nothing to do with 30 freaking minutes!

Dwayne or Danny McBride better said, I don’t like him as an actor and I doubt that I will like him as a person; he has just this face that makes me want to kick his ass.
The movie was in one word the trailer, we almost didn’t get any additional jokes in the movie that we didn’t saw in the trailer, please next time keep something for later!

In case of Eisenberg I feel a bit sorry for him, I think he is a good actor and this movie shouldn't be on his IMDB page, next time just pass!

Well…
The movie was good enough for a home movie popcorn night; I doubt it was even good enough for this. Cheap comedy, cursing and nudity are the means to bring people to the movies and keep them happy, for me it was just too cheap. Don’t waste your time on this. Because of all the above I grade this…
