Hotel Transylvania, trailer!

Dracula, who operates a high-end resort away from the human world, goes into overprotective mode when a boy discovers the resort and falls for the count's teen-aged daughter. This is the summary of the movie, and yeah this sounds like something original, so this caught my attention. Normally I try to stay with the classics like, Madagascar and Ice age, but sometimes something great comes up like, despicable me, which just brings something unseen. Here it gives us Adam Sandler’s voice in a Dracula costume, which sounds quite nice. Look at the trailer and you will see what I see. Enjoy!

I know looks funny and interesting at the same time, I forgot to mention the voice of Steve Buscemi also worth mentioning. As always be prepared!

Review: Hunger Games

Director: Gary Ross

Release Date:22 March 2012

Stars: Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth and Woody Harrelson

Genres: Action | Drama | Sci-Fi | Thriller

Memorable quote:
President Snow: Hope, it is the only thing stronger than fear. A little hope is effective, a lot of hope is dangerous. A spark is fine, as long as it's contained.

What?
In a weird future, you have the rich and powerful and the poor and powerless. Years ago there was a rebellion by the poor; they lost, as punishment and as a constant reminder each year each district needs to give up one boy and one girls to participate in the hunger games, or better said modern televised gladiators. Those 24 lucky ones will fight to the death. They get sponsors; make up, cloth and training to become the best warriors and performers to build up the suspense the audience wants. May the odds be ever in your favor.

Yes?
I try always to rate a movie on different parameters, one of them is entertainment. Of course this can blur my vision and the actual quality of the movie. In this movie I was entertained, I didn’t think of anything else than this movie. I was in my seat leaving the moments, and not thinking, what else I could do with my time. So I guess this is a good sign.

I liked the story, I like the whole reality show factor, which of course already exist in other movies but this here had the whole package; Players, an arena, a producer, sponsors and winners. Before I entered this movie I was afraid that it’s going to be another childish movie for twelve year olds with the twilight Crazy concept. But for my astonishment it wasn’t. The movie had qualities, the story was actually interesting, and even after I left the cinema I was intrigued to know more about this whole weird little world these people live in. I felt for the players of this so called game of savagery. The scary part of course is, will we one day have to give up a child to play in a war game. Are we doing it already? Reality tv exists, the question is when will it go just
a bit spicier? Think about that.

The actors were good, loved Jennifer Lawrence she was amazingly mature and performed as of her life actually depended on it; I can only say great choice. Woody Harrelson is as always, funny and great to have on screen.

Of course the young black girl not sure of her name but she was amazing, I was sad when, … I won’t tell.

The beauty in the movie was the cruelty of children, everybody knows adults can be bad people but young children are even worse, I was a fat kid, believe me children are little monsters when we talk about teasing but killing and executing each other is another level. Don’t get me wrong I loved the fact that it was bloody, but when kids do it, it’s a bit different.

No?
I think the lesser part of this movie was how the whole thing was divided; I felt that the first part was too long, you have the first part, the introduction to this world, which of course is important, and then you have the games themselves. The introduction was too long for my taste and well I looked at my watch for once, I wanted the games to start.

Another problem was the Josh Hutcherson , I think he was just not good for the part. Secondly he is no “girl’s choice” kind of guy, I think he doesn’t suite the profile to be the hero in a romantic movie, as a straight married guy, I need to add.

BTW, what’s with the cheap special features,, your movie just earned around 500 million dollars, couldn’t you throw the explosions a bone.

Well…
As I said it before, this movie was entertaining as it was fun to watch. You got your money’s worth you could say. You could even watch it at the movies, it’s fun and refreshing and I can’t wait to see what the second part will bring us. I didn’t read the books, so don’t tell me if you see me. Because of all the above I grade this…

Grade: 8 out of 10

Total Recall, trailer!

Lately it became stylish to remake every movie, that had a good idea in the past but the effects were crap. That’s why Total recall gets a makeover. I must honestly say that haven’t watched the original one, possibly because I was 5 years old, I know that’s not a good excuse, but I looked at the trailer form this 1990 movie and I couldn’t figure out what this movie was about. It has something to do with the mind etc. So I must say that the trailer for the remake looks a lot better and we can actually try to understand something. So enjoy!

Colin Farrell looks like the guy we want for this one, the effects look amazing and I hope that the story will also bring us something to remember. As always be prepared!
