Memorable quote:

Dickie Eklund: Are you like me? Was just good enough to fight Sugar Ray? Never had to win, did I? You gotta do more in there. You gotta win a title. For you, for me, for Lowell. This is your time, all right? You take it. I had my time and I blew it. You don't have to. All right? You fuckin' get out there, and use all the shit that you've been through, all the shit we've gone through over the fuckin' years, and you put it in that ring right now. This is yours. This is fuckin' yours.

What?

Since I was a child I loved the boxing world. The fact that two people fight against each other and it is allowed made it super interesting for me. Then I got to know the Rocky franchise, I was the biggest fan and I knew all of them by hearth, After all this years another great movie comes by based on the true story of the young boxer Micky Ward, who failed in everything he did until now. Got divorced, lost a lot of fights till this moment and had a sucky ex-boxer- junky as a trainer who just made everything worse. Till he gets the chance of a lifetime and everything starts to go better. Sounds familiar if you have seen Rocky, well this is the real thing!

Yes?
The story wasn’t much of it, an upcoming boxer living in the suburbs in nowhere getting a serious fighting chance. No big deal, but I believe the real big strength of this movie are the actors. Everyone was just on his best here. Yeah even Wahlberg. Normally I don’t see him as a good actor but here he played the role perfectly.

Then we had Christian Bale, this guy is just amazing, he gave everything for this role and he dam well cashed out here, I believe an Oscar counts as cashed out. Then we have Amy Adams actually known for nothing but she was the perfect for this role, the girlfriend who comes between the family and the fighter. The other actors were all just in their good role and made everything looks real.

The environment, the poor suburbs with no hope, drugs and everything just fit the picture in a perfect way. I think that’s enough for here.

The movie brings all this different emotions in place, hope, dreams, excitement, drama and even anger. It shows the decision one needs to make to advance for himself and not hold the weight of others around you.

No?
You could say that for some people the movie would be definitely boring, If you don’t like boxing, maybe this won’t be for you.

I think this was a great movie and I won’t add here anything else/
I write this here, sorry for the delay on this but there was a misunderstanding, I needed to watch this with someone, never had the time, blablabla.

Well…
This movie brings everything that a good movie needs to have, great actors and performance. All this together with the reality of the environment created and you have an Oscar winning movie. If you haven’t yet watched it do it now!
