Memorable quote:
Col. Chester Phillips: General Patton has said that wars are fought with weapons but are won by men. Our goal is to create the greatest army in history. But every army begins with one man. He will be the first in a new breed of super-soldier. We are going to win this war because we have the best men. And they, personally, will escort Adolf Hitler to the gates of Hell.

What? The time is World War 2, The Nazi destroying machine is taking over Europe, and they come out with weird revolutionary technology to make super soldiers. Back in the States the pentagon doesn’t sit around they decide to come up with their own super soldier. Meanwhile in Brooklyn New York, Steve Rogers gets rejected again from the army service due to his weakness and other physical lacking’s. The only difference is that he has the ultimate weapon inside him, the will and hearth. Combine this with some weird serum and technology and you get the meanest weapon of all Captain America and the birth of the avengers! Of course then we have some super villain in Europe which as needs to be whooped, but that’s just something on the side!

Yes?
Finally we get an action hero worth looking at, he does everything for the right reasons, no pride or money, just world peace I guess, or that the US stays the leading world power, but let not look at the details. We know Evans from the fantastic four, and even there we saw that he is super hero’s material, so the choice here was right.

Then we got the story, I love it when there is a nice background to everything, till our guy becomes superhero we learn a lot about him, and what we learn is great. I liked the flow in the movie and the whole idea of no technology like 60 years ago.

The villain of course couldn’t be any better, yeah I know I didn’t like the red face, but Hugo Weaving is just the perfect villain, as we have seen him in the matrix (Hello Mr. Anderson!) I guess its his rectangular face that makes him so perfect.

Another good thing that I liked were the action scenes, they had meat on them, you had a couple of them, and of course the effects were really good.

Last but not least as in every Marvel super hero movie we see a link between characters just going over from movie to movie. Here we have Starks father, the scientist that helps Captain America to transform in other movies we have just a line.

No?
Two things always ruin superhero movies. The one is the known story line again. Weak guy becomes super strong, some villain who finds some cool thing to also become super strong, they fight, there is some girl in the middle and that’s quite it. Seriously try to come up with something more refreshing.

Secondly the final fight between the two main characters was in my eyes a bit to small and downplayed, Make it huge and just come out in a bang!

Well…
I liked this movie, it kind off stood up to my expectations, a bit more would be good but this was definitely enough. Watch it, its fun and entertaining. Because of all the above I grade this one…

Grade: 8 out of 10
