What?

Let’s start to say that the film is based on a true story and true events. The question is how true the facts are considering we take the side of the weaker party to make up the movie. So ,an undercover CIA agent, married to an ex ambassador becomes in charge of all the Intel concerning Iraq and WMD, an interesting job, in a time when president Bush is motivated to finish his fathers work there. When Watts presents Intel that there's nothing there, the whole system collapses on her, and she becomes the enemy of the state. Who will stand at the end?

Yes?
The main assets of the movie were the actors Sean Penn and Naomi Watts, they were amazing, the roles were well performed and executed. They have a great chemistry between them and the whole marriage looks real. I even liked Penn more than Watts. Since the story was based on real events the viewer understands the meaning and importance of her actions, and connects easily to the personas. The latter half of the movie was good, the flow was better and the spectator starts to feel with the actors and the story.

No?
My main problem was the trailer of the movie. It made you believe it’s going to be a political thriller, which includes danger, running and some action. The movie gives you at most a small hiccup, that's it. The suspense is unreal and nothing to crazy happens, so yes everybody hates you, still not so scary. The introduction for this movie was also way too long. During the fist hour nothing happens, it’s a long explanation of the situation and characters, which of course isn't unneeded but it was to long.

Well

I must admit I was quite disappointed by this movie, because I deeply believed it would be something different. If we leave this fact aside the movie had some positive aspects, so I will not discredit the whole thing because of that.
The beginning was quite boring, but later on the film became spicier, not enough to save it from being, in my opinion a bit lame. So all in all disappointed is the word to use, so because of all the above I grade this one…

Grade: 6 out of 10
